Our Process

Rochelle Porter Design Process

Sometimes it starts with a simple sketch on a Post-It Note. Other times, it's an elaborate watercolor painting on high quality cold press paper. Most times, though, it's the result of my picking up a pen and allowing my mind to wander.

The inspiration could be as otherworldly as the aurora borealis or as mundane as a Manhattan subway grate. Doesn't really matter. Once it gets scanned, digitized, and into my laptop, it takes on a life of its own. It might get flipped, stretched, cropped and recolored. Or it may barely change at all.

Regardless of the degree of tweaking involved, the goal is always to create a brilliant, deftly designed print that gives my customers as much joy as I get from making it.
